| | Bring the Gift of Light to St Martin's | 15/07/08 | Enter a competition to win a pane of glass signed by Billy Bragg and you will be helping restore historic St Martin-in-the-Fields in central London.
Billy is one of many public figures backing the renovation of this landmark church. The wording on his pane of glass reads: 'Please help St Martin's SEE THROUGH their renewal project'.
St Martin-in-the-Fields is undergoing its most significant renewal programme in 200 years. The Trafalgar Square church is replacing all of its glass windows in the style originally envisioned by its 18th century architect, James Gibbs.
Other well-known people supporting the fund-raising include JK Rowling, Steven Fry, Ian Rankin, Ken Livingstone, Charlie Higson, Dame Kelly Holmes, Andrew Motion, Sheila Hancock, Joanna Lumley, The Rt Hon Gordon Brown, and Sir John Major, to name only a few.
To enter the Gift of Light competition, which closes on 31 August, visit the website link below and click on the South Elevation part of the Church graphic to select Billy's pane of glass. Each competition entry ticket (you can buy more than one) costs £10.
